Madonna.
One hundred pieces of long-staple Pima cotton, each with a certificate numbered by hand and sealed in oxblood wax while still warm to the touch. Made once, and never reprinted.
Rite I
The plate is struck
A single icon, printed to the run and then retired.
Rite II
The hand numbers
Each certificate carries its edition, written in ink.
Rite III
The wax is set
Sealed in oxblood while warm — the wax is the witness.
Rite IV
The ledger closes
At one hundred, the drop is sealed. Once sealed, all sales are final.

The house writes once before the drop, and once when the ledger closes. Nothing else.
